Hello and welcome to the third in our series of blogs to get to know our fantastic team!
Over the coming weeks and months we are giving you the opportunity to get to know a little more about who we are, how we help you (our clients) and what we get up to in our spare time.
NAME: Kat Stewart
ROLE: Copywriter
Tell us a bit about the work you do with Marketing Square?
I’ve worked with Claire and the team for about 3 years. I’m a copywriter who helps solve the occasional marketing and communications dilemma!
I predominantly work with professional services clients and I love the specialist industries we support.
What key skills do you bring to Marketing Square?
- Too many years’ experience in B2B copywriting and communications – specialising in simplifying complex messages.
- English Language & Linguistics degree (so I love a grammar rule… and breaking one or two).
- An odd interest in what many consider to be complicated, intricate and ‘boring’ industries.
Tell us a bit about you…
If I’m suffering from writer’s block, I find inspiration in the Kent and Sussex countryside and seaside. Otherwise, I enjoy playing badminton – where I’m also known as ‘Captain Kat’.
Quote to live by…
I’m a believer in fate – if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be and if you stay positive it will all make sense in the end.
What is your current favourite brand?
I really like clever and collaborative communications. This definitely applies to some of the British tea brands’ style on social media right now. When a vlogger tweeted support to Yorkshire Tea for not taking a public stance on Black Lives Matter, they responded with “Please don’t buy our tea again” and PG Tips joined in with #solidaritea. This thoughtful messaging will have a bigger positive impact on both brands than a poorly planned PR or marketing campaign.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know Kat a little more. Stay connected for more insight into the Marketing Square network.
